Pre-Placement

Before going on work experience, every student MUST undertake the Occupational Health and Safety Preparation Program. This will include completing a booklet plus undertaking some online tests, as outlined in the workbook (see above).

Administration

Once students have completed the online form above, the process is:

STEP 1: Students must send both of the Work Experience Arrangement Form and the Travel and Accommodation form to their employer for completion. They must also complete both the student and parent sections of the forms

STEP 2: Students need to have completed the WorkSafe General and Industry Specific modules (to their WE area) and saved their certificates.

STEP 3: Students need to email copies of the following to their LFL teachers.

  • Work Experience Arrangement form.
  • Travel and Accommodation form.
  • OHS Certificates (General and Industry specific).

STEP 4:  LFL teacher uploads documents to internal link

STEP 5: The Careers Department will get forms and OHS Certificates signed by the principal.

STEP 6: All parties receive a copy of the completed forms. As well as a copy of the school's Child Safe Policy, Public Liability Policy, the appropriate workplace hazard sheet and an evaluation form for the employer to complete. The original copy is stored at Trinity.

STEP 7: Whilst out on work experience, a member of the Trinity staff visits the student and completes the visiting teacher form.

Post-placement

Work Experience outside of school time.

Students can do a work experience placement during Term 1 and 2 holidays only with prior approval from the Head of Careers. Students should complete the Work Experience Arrangement Form (WEAF) and Travel and Accommodation forms no later than 2 weeks prior to the dates outlined on the forms.
